A work placement is a period of supervised work whereby a student has the opportunity to experience working in a particular role or division within a NFP or business.

The capacity and way in which the student is integrated into the day-to-day functions of the entity will vary between organisations. The placement is intended to be reciprocally beneficial for the organisation and the student, and is voluntary in nature. Typically a placement does not involved the transfer of monies from either party. There is no obligation or expectation for the organisation to extend an offer of employment to the student.
